This paper examines micro-business and employment generation for poverty reduction in Jamaica. It suggests that although micro-business as a means to generate employment is a viable approach for each parish in Jamaica, the type of micro-business must be determined by local conditions. The paper discusses the conditions and requirements that must be met if micro-business is to be an engine for employment creation.
The topic of wealth creation and sustainable development in the Caribbean, is examined in this paper with special attention to the environment and natural resource management.
